Adding images and links to table charts

Overview

The article explains the steps to be followed to add images and links to table charts.

Information

Links and images are generated in the following order of prioritization:

1. Associated link URLs / image URLs from the dimension instances page in the field LINK URL and IMAGE URL.

2. Dimension type settings from the dimension instances page.

3. Link schema settings from the dimension instances page.

There are two ways in which users can see links and/or images in a table chart:

  • Associate an external link or image with a dimension instance.
  • Treat a Dimension as an image or a link.

Associate an external link or image with a dimension instance

1. Go to Model > Dimensions.

  • Input a URL in the LINK URL field and / or input an image URL in the IMAGE URL field

2. Go to Answers.

  • Make a query with a Group by using the dimension the URLs were added to.
  • Select the creative table chart (Screen_Shot_2018-06-18_at_3.30.58_PM.png)

Note: If a link AND image URL is added, the image will click into the link.

Treat a Dimension as an image or a link

This will treat the dimensions name value as a link or an image.

1. Go to Model > Dimensions

  • Select the dimension to access a dimension instances page.
  • Pick a "Dimension Type" (select "Image" or "Link")

The dimension's image will now be generated using the dimension's name:

2. Make a query with a Group by using the edited dimension

Note: You can override what shows up in the image table (Screen_Shot_2018-06-18_at_3.30.58_PM.png) by editing the associated link URL or image URL per dimension instance from the dimension instances page.
